Context

Problem framing

FleetForge Technologies operated mixed fleets with disconnected GPS vendors and manual route performance spreadsheets. Dispatch needed a single map truth, driver safety signals, and route analytics that matched how regional managers actually plan shifts.

Constraints

Normalize telemetry from heterogeneous GPS APIs with different cadences and failure modes. Route analytics had to be explainable to ops managers, not data science experiments. Driver monitoring required privacy-aware policies and clear escalation paths.

Architecture

System design

A telemetry ingestion hub normalizes vendor feeds into a fleet graph model in PostgreSQL. Mapbox-backed dashboards show live positions with sub-3s delay; a route analytics engine computes efficiency and exception reports nightly and on-demand. Driver event monitoring attaches policy thresholds with audit logs. Node.js services expose APIs consumed by the React operations console.

Delivery

How we shipped

Vendor integration sprint, phased dashboard rollout to three regions, and policy configuration workshops with fleet managers. 480+ vehicles tracked live; route efficiency improved 21% where analytics drove dispatch changes. Corexel transferred vendor integration docs and on-call runbooks before peak season.
